Expecting Life’s obstacles and Thriving in them

Road sign“There are no limitations to the mind, except those we acknowledge.”   This is a quote by Napoleon Hill in his book, Think and Grow Rich. Recently I’ve been bombarded with a significant increase in workload at my corporate job which has sidetracked me significantly in my other ventures. I’ve been placed in charge of a $4 million project that drives 30% of the company’s traffic to the main portal (this accounts for over 60 million page views per month), and as a by product, clocking in 60 – 75 hour work weeks.

Recently, I’ve been reflecting on how life has a unique way of staying inconsistent. No matter how hard we try to create routines and organize our daily endeavors, life will predictably develop unpredictable circumstances that, if not prepared, will throw us off course. Thus, I find that being laser focused is ever so important now more than ever.

I don’t know about you, but it never fails that when you are on the brink of a break through, or on the cusp of realizing the fruition of a goal you become the target of a well designed life altering change to throw you off course. Well I am here to say to you, no matter what it is, no matter who it is, stay the course and finish your race.

These challenges that we face on a day to day basis have one thing objective and that’s to make us stronger. We all have our strengths and weaknesses and in order to exercise our determination and expand our borders we must become uncomfortable.

Forgive me for ranting in this post. Normally I would have some bulletined solution on how to overcome life’s obstacles, or how to ensure you stay focused, but in this case I just want to acknowledge that challenges are to be expected and embraced. You will never grow without them. Also, the way you handle may be unique on your circumstance.

The important thing is to know that there are no limits to what you can do. Whatever life throws at you, you have the ability to overcome. I encourage you to stay the course you have set before yourself. Read edifying scriptures and motivational books. Stay connected with like-minded individuals and have faith in yourself.

Lee, really I just have to go get it. Nobody is going to get it for me or care how I make ends meet. So as the head of the family I MUST make it happen for my family. Handling situations that come your way for me is the test to see if you are ready for the next stage in life or platform. Great post because I know you are on that next Level.
